There is nothing better than summer. This summer 2021 cannot go unnoticed! Discover here 10 super tips for your 2021 summer closet!
With summer around the corner and more possibilities to come back to our “previous normality”, we are just excited to go out and enjoy life!
Since we’ve been living in a non-fashion cave, we all probably need a little help to get to know what is going on in the fashion world, take inspiration, and look for conscious items to achieve that slow summer fashion wardrobe we’ve been dreaming about!
Here I am going to give you 10 tips for slow fashion articles you should consider for this summer 2021.

1. Shoulder Pads
If you still think that fashion is not a cycle, you are still in denial.
We saw a brief moment with shoulder pads last September added to muscle tanks. Now, it seems we are fully embracing the powerful silhouette.
This is the perfect opportunity to go check your mom’s closet and see what you can use. You would be surprised at how successfully you’ll bring to life old pieces that have been forgotten by your mom 20 years ago.
Prepare for shoulder pads in jackets, blazers and t-shirts to give you a strong and commanding appearance. You can easily dress this up or down for an effortlessly chic aesthetic.

2. Head Scarfs
Head scarfs came in 2021 more powerful than ever.
There are different types of prints from stripes and squares, to floral and gipsy. When styling this accessory, you can wrap the fabric under your chin in a loose knot, or have it hanging off the back of your head – mix things up by wrapping it around your neck or let it dangle from your bag.
Normally the head scarfs are used in sleek, but you can use it in crochet and give it a twist!

3. Monochrome
Who says that monochrome has to be boring?
For those who want to keep it simple and don't “over-do” much in the process, monochrome outfits are the solution. But, hey, when I say monochrome I am not referring only to white and black. Opt for bright colors and patterns.
Some popular monochrome combinations are sorbet pastels, neons and browns.
It does not need to be in the form of a suit either. Go for a neon bodysuit and skirt or a dress with matching shoes.

4. Overalls
I remember when I was a little girl, this was my favorite piece in my wardrobe above all. You could take an overall and just wear whatever top you were feeling like on that particular day, and head out. I felt that no matter which top I’d use, I could always feel presentable for any casual occasion.

Overalls take me back to my childhood and teenage years, and I indeed encourage you to dust off yours or go to your favorite second-hand store and get one of these ready-to-go pieces.
Tip: According to ELLE, overalls are easy to wear over swimsuits.
This takes us to our next tip!

5. Eco-friendly swimsuits
A swimwear is definitely the one piece that shouldn't be missed in your summer wardrobe, and if it is sustainable swimwear, then it is even better!
The range of swimsuits goes from mix and match bikinis to one-pieces and bodysuits. No matter which one you decide, make sure you feel 100% comfortable in them.
Patterns such as animal print and floral, are quite common for summer time. We encourage you to go out of the ordinary and try neon which are a hit these days!

6. Crochet
Crochet comes in and out of style every decade. This time, you can see it being used in many ways. It can come in bright colors and bold patterns.
Religare has combined the ancestral technique from the indigenous in Colombia, with the liberty and flow of a versatile and atemporal piece.
Given this trend’s tendency to come back in style, it might be something worth using.

7. Fringing on the bags
There is no better time to use a fringing bag than summer time. The freedom of the season perfectly syncs with the flow of the tassels. Let tassels dangle close to the fabric and see how the streets become almost a dancefloor.
Normally these bags are made with leather, but I highly advise you to go with the woven option. This material in particular have no animal cruelty, and a stand-out beauty that won’t be easy to replicate!
For a classic feel, choose dark hues like brown or black, but if you want to stand out from the others, take a dip into bold shades like red, blue, or green. If you’re ready to shake up your go-to style, this is the item to pick!

8. Pop Blue Accessories
Earlier in this article I spoke about monochrome.
I stated that although monochromes seem to be a bit boring, as long as you combine them with other colors you can be able to create a remarkable outfit. Blue is not only connected with the summer season due to its constant reminder of the sea, but also is a color that is standing out this season.
When styling these items, opt for all black or grey outfits. The bright hue will stand out amongst the deeper shades. Mix and match your accessories and discover a new favorite way to rock your key pieces.
-
9. Yellow and camel colors and
There is a new generation of people who are not afraid to take on colors that were a no-go for many generations. Yellow and camel color styling, are the trend taken from the 70s and which has gotten a serious facelift.
Mixing and matching these shades adds dimension and depth to your ensembles, no matter the clothes you prefer to wear.

10. Neutrals
You won’t be wrong with the neutral colors. No matter what you wear, an all-neutral palette is just the thing to put you into a relaxed summer mood. Try styling a white tank with high-waisted beige shorts, then top the whole look off with a light sweater or tailored longline blazer that fits within the color scheme.
Now you know my favorite tips and picks. What are you waiting to make yours?!
